CLAES BJÖRKLUND

ABOUT

The story of Claes Björklund started in Motala, a small town in the southern swedish country side in 1971.

His musical career started when he as a teenager played keyboards in local bands. Later in his early twenties he found his way to Stockholm and became a session musician, playing both live and on recordings with different artists on the swedish pop scene.

In 1993 Claes met producer Martin Terefe and became involved in the production of Sara Isaksson's second album "Red Eden". Claes and Martin teamed up and Martin moved his buisness to London, UK in 1996. He then built "Kensaltown studios" where Claes became a residential musician and still is up to this day. His playing can be found on records with artists such as Martha Wainwright, Ron Sexsmith, Travis, Jonna Lee, Dawn Kinnard, John ME, Ed Harcourt, Sara Isaksson, Leona Naess, Aha, Shea Seger and many more.

Claes Björklund's first own production was the band Tribeca's "Kate -97" in 2002, later followed by artists like Jonna Lee, Lasse Lindh and Space Age Baby Jane.

in 2007 Claes started his own studio in Stockholm, MYSTIK studios and is also playing piano in Scottish band Travis.
